PLAIN FILMS X-RAY
With plain films x-rays, radiation exposure is limited. For most exams, you would experience similar levels of radiation during a cross country commercial airline flight. A typical chest x-ray includes the same amout of radiation the average person receives just being alive 10 days.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
All jewelry, metal and zippers etc must be removed from the examination region, including bras, and pants when those regions are to be imaged.

Anyone of child bearing age should have their groin/abdomen shielded by a lead apron or shield unless that region is the focus of the exam.

A typical x-ray takes 10 minutes from start to finish and the actual radiation exposure last the duration of a standard photograph.

Upon completion of the exam, you will be thanked and escorted to a changing area if necessary or back to the reception area.
